We look forward to welcoming you to Kruijd for the marriage of Simon and Diana, followed by dinner and dancing. The ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM, followed by drinks, dinner at long tables and an evening of celebration.

We kindly ask our guests to refrain from wearing black. The evening temperatures can be cooler, we recommend bringing something warm to keep you comfortable throughout the celebrations. As the wedding will be held outdoors, we also suggest opting for block heels to make walking on the ground more comfortable.

Hiking Trails in the Area

  • Located just a short drive from central Paarl, this reserve is famous for its massive granite outcrops, fynbos, and panoramic wineland vistas.

    Gabbema Doordrift Trail

    • Distance/Difficulty: 6.7 km (4.2 miles) | Moderate

    • Highlights: Runs near the architecturally striking Afrikaans Language Monument and passes the peaceful Victoria Dam.

    Wemmershoek Walk

    • Distance/Difficulty: 3.2 km (2.0 miles) | Easy.

    • Highlights: Level terrain winding through indigenous fynbos, making it perfect for families.

  • Situated along the dramatic Bain's Kloof Pass (R301) near Wellington, this UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for crystal-clear mountain pools and deep gorges.

    Note: All CapeNature trails require a permit purchased in advance via their website.

    Krom River Trail

    • Distance/Difficulty: 7.2 km (4.5 miles) | Moderate to Adventurous

    • Highlights: One of the most popular hikes in the region. It follows a riverbed to two magnificent waterfalls and deep swimming pools. Reaching the upper waterfall requires climbing a fixed chain ladder.

    • Cost: ~R55 per adult (Permits are strictly limited per day).

  • Welvanpas Hiking Trail

    • Distance/Difficulty: 6.1 km (3.8 miles) | Moderate

    • Highlights: Set on a historic farm in Wellington's Bovlei valley, this beautiful loop winds through working vineyards and dense, shaded forests before ending at a stunning waterfall.

    • Cost: ~R50 day permit (payable at Die Ou Meul coffee shop; closed Mondays).
